St. Kevin's is
one of the oldest Gaelic Clubs in Melbourne, dating back to
1957. The Club has been and important thread in the fabric of
the Australian-Irish society in Melbourne since its foundation.
Its members have been foremost in the development of Gaelic
Park. The Club has always gone to great length to support Gaelic
games on many platforms.
The Club still thrives today due to the endless
efforts of all those involved down through the years. The
continued development of the club is assisted by the healthy mix
of Australian and Irish members involved in the committee or as
players in the club teams.
It is from this solid base that the Club can
rely, to face the future with great confidence and expectation
of future growth and success. With an influx of new blood to the
men's and ladies teams and a renewed interest from past players,
St. Kevin's is guaranteed a successful season during 2004. Last
season's teams are pictured below.
St. Kevin's passion in the promotion of Gaelic
football is matched by a thriving social scene which pivots
around visiting as many pubs as possible in Melbourne.
The Club is entering an exciting new phase with
many new members and a rekindling of contact with past players.
If there are past players or anyone who was involved with the
club, we would love to hear from you. The current committee are
bringing together almost fifty years of Club history and
embarking on a new chapter in the clubs growth and development.
If enough people are interested, the club will
arrange transportation to and from Gaelic Park which is located
out of the city. The Club would like to welcome anyone
interested in playing or viewing Gaelic Sport to contact any of
the following committee members.
